It is Time to Come Out of The Spiritual Closet People!

I am excited to use my new Ascended Masters Oracle Card Deck by Doreen Virtue for todays card! And what a card it is. I have to tell you, I too have felt the power of this message so strongly lately.

I have been using tarot cards for almost 20 years now, but most people in my life did not know this about me. Since my father passed away in 2008, I have been on an intense and remarkable spiritual journey and I have had to “come out of the closet” myself! It can be an uncomfortable moment when you talk about God, angels and ascended masters. People start to shift, avert their eyes and wonder when you are going to press them about going to church with you. I doubt many people understand what my beliefs are, and that is okay. They don’t need to. Only I do. And that makes coming out of the closet even easier; all you need is faith in yourself and your nature.

When the moment arrives where you can truly embrace yourself just as you are, that is when you will find a new joy and freedom. I invite you to share your stories of coming out of the closet here as well to inspire others who may be struggling with their self esteem.

Today’s stunning & well poised card is Amaterasu, a Japanese Shinto sun goddess. Call upon her to increase your self-esteem and empower you to reveal your true self to others. She looks off into the distance knowing that she faces uncertainty, but she has such dignity and confidence that we know she can bear any storms that come at her. The red shows us Amaterasu’s passion, strength and energy while the blue represents her faith, loyalty and trust in herself and others. The golden border of this card brings in the elements of prestige, wisdom & the wealth that life brings when you open up and live an authentic existence.

If you are reading my blog, you too are on a spiritual journey. Don’t let the naysayers interfere with that journey. The healing, the compassion and the connection you achieve as you connect with the law of attraction and the forces of this multi dimensional world we live in far outweigh anything their negativity brings to the table. Look at these people (strangers,friends or family) as teachers to strengthen your resolve; as an opportunity to enhance your own understanding of your spiritual nature. One important element of this new reality is to  practice non-attachment while you speak your authentic truth. Your naysayers will have an easier time letting go of their fear when they see that you have.

Dust Off Your Magic Wands

Sometimes it is hard to put into practice that which we know to be true.

Your mind and your perception of the world around you creates your life. Your ability to see how powerful this truth is can and will open many doors for you.

Life Coaching 101 – The Magic Wand Exercise

When this card showed up as inspiration for my post today I was reminded of a tool I use in life coaching sessions, the magic wand exercise. It is quite important to maintain a sense of fun when making those big life decisions and this exercise stimulates imagination and creativity by breaking down your “rules” for your life. This exercise is effective, impactful and of little expense other than a tea, a pen and a notebook.

For this exercise, take a nice notebook and pen of choice and find yourself a quiet and peaceful spot to sit where you can write. You are not allowed to have any electronics within earshot for this exercise. So if you are out and about, leave your phone and tablet at home, shocking I know!!

Once you are comfortable and settled imagine a magic wand in your hand. In can look like anything you want, but visualize it to be a wand of great power. As you wave it, magic weaves itself through every corner of your life, paving a magical view of opportunity and abundance. You are now free to visualize your perfect life.

Here are a few points to take into consideration as you begin:

You live anywhere in the world, in any style of dwelling with anyone and anything.
You work anywhere in the world, in any style of work environment as part of any kind of team or lack there of that fulfills your life purpose.
You are as generous with your time, money and energy as you desire.
You health looks and feels exactly how you wish as does your spiritual practice and physical fitness regime.
Your lifestyle breaks down all known barriers and allows you to live in balance and harmony.

This is best done for the present, in one year, five years and retirement. The present will take up the most lines in your journal and the subsequent years will build on the foundation you have laid.

Once you have written it down it becomes a sacred contract. It becomes a living vital “ask” for your best life. If you haven’t realized this lately, please remember how powerful you are in creating your life. Allow you desires to fuel your decisions, your thoughts and your desires.

Don’t Shoot the Messenger

I really love this card.

Have you ever met someone who shares their point of view without any regard for your feelings or even an awareness that you might have some? Or how about a relative who shares their opinion loud & proud a little too often? Well these people are your Page of Air. Their lack of tact doesn’t mean that they are bad people, some folks just shoot straight from the hip.

Page of Air will show up when you need to hear a crystal clear truth that you have not been open to receiving. It has become quite important that you hear this truth right now. Liking the tone in which it is delivered is not a pre-requisite for this particular course however!

Change is all around us. The pillars of society are rocky at best. Time can be of the essence and for the Page of Air there is no time for tact; it is business time!

The imagery of this card is strong, aggressive and powerful. Not only is she armed with focused intention and a very large sword, but she has quite a team at her side. Just like the her sword, the truth she delivers can cut deep wounds. She holds an illuminated world in the palm of her bear paws adorned with grizzly bear sized claws. I don’t know about you, but I would not mess with her! Of note, this person can be either a male or female.

With an erupting volcano in the background symbolizing the ever-present creative forces at work, we see a lion (courage, power, strength), a wolf (intelligence) and a unicorn (purity and integrity) in the foreground.

One more note on the wolf; wolves have a very keen sense of hearing. You too must increase your awareness to receive important messages coming your way. Leave your ego at the door and listen to the message; there is no room for emotion here.

We all know someone who can deliver a message of truth that cuts right to the bone. Please, don’t shoot the messenger! The guidance may be abruptly delivered but you will reap the greatest benefit if you can separate the message from the messenger. Lessons are actually blessings in your life.

A Sense of Belonging

 

I was guided to post this card and the post just wrote itself. The ability to release your anger, whether at yourself or others is a major cornerstone to good health, progress and success. Have you ever thought about your sense of belonging when you were growing up? Were you part of a tight family unit where you felt safe, cared for and a part of something?  To one degree or another, most of us did not, and this has a life long impact that we are sadly often unaware of.

Many of us on a spiritual path feel separate by the choices we make and by doing so we are unconsciously creating thicker walls. As we dive deeply into alternative lifestyles of vegetarianism, meditation, chakra clearing, oracle card readings, reiki, spirit animals, art therapy, macrobiotic diets and on and on it goes, these choices can accentuate existing feelings of separation. Being part of a group is essential to our health and happiness; it fosters a deep sense of belonging.

I was recently listening to Dr. Mona Lisa Schultz, an MD and medical intuitive, and she recommends doing things that make you feel part of “the herd” if you have back problems, skin conditions or anxiety (this has a connection to our root chakra). She offers refreshing and unusual “prescriptions” to better our health alongside the traditional medications we would normally use. She says we should read a little current events to have something to contribute in casual conversation with family members and co-workers rather than feeling isolated by being out of the loop. Also, to update a few pieces of your wardrobe to the latest style and know that is beneficial to your health to foster that sense of belonging.

You are perfect just as you are and you don’t have to compromise your values by understanding that a little mainstream activity in your world will benefit your goals in your off-the-beaten-path lifestyle. Forgiveness involves non-judgmental behaviour and as they say, different strokes for different folks.

Today, as you release old anger and resentments you can take your temperature on your sense of belonging. What can you tweak to allow yourself more connection and easier communications in your life? How can you release old feelings and behaviour that blocks your ability to  “belong” in your current life? I always love writing a letter, poem or song and burning it, but you will know what works best for you to release old feelings for good!

Let is go and live in the present moment. Dwelling in the past is not where your life is. Let your love shine light a blazing light of glory so you can really move forward.  Be aware that you can be your own soft place to fall when you life gets off track. Amazing things await you today and  tomorrow.

Embrace Your Inner Aphrodite

I am being called to awaken some divine feminine energy in my social media circle. The message is loud and clear that the time for talking about change is over; it is time for change. This is big change too. Wether you live in a progressive country like me here in Canada or you live in fear of persecution for simply being yourself on the other side of the planet, we all need to embrace the changes of this world. I am going to weave the message around the incredible, provocative and powerful goddess, Aphrodite.

A quick reminder for those who aren’t familiar with her origins, Aphrodite is a Greek goddess of love and passion. Astrologically she is associated with the planet Venus and her name means “foam born”. Very sexy indeed! I have a little PG 13 disclaimer here before you continue reading. You may be surprised to know that the most popular legend about her origins states Aphrodite sprang from her father Uranus’ castrated genitals that had been cast into the sea by Cronus. Yes I know, it is quite a dramatic and passionate birth. I love that the man went through the harsh labour pains for a change, don’t you? In all seriousness though, this is the back story to Aphrodite’s brazen sexual energy.  It is said she had no childhood, but rather began her life as a desirable sexually mature young woman. 

The power of the feminine energy must be honoured and cherished. It through equality and education that balance and sustainability will thrive and win out around the world. Aphrodite asks both you ladies and men to embrace your inner goddess and share it with the world. When there is an imbalance of male and female energy unsustainable patterns emerge.

Unfortunately many of these dangerous patterns have turned into the pillars of society where women are not equal to men. Luckily many societies have said good bye to outdated laws and cultural norms but too many misogynistic societies are still seeking a path to escape from this shroud of darkness.

There is only one you. No one else can tell you exactly how to be the most authentic you except yourself. So work your life like a catwalk, beam that magnificent smile of yours out into the atmosphere so that it lights up the sun and never apologize for being sensitive, or honest or authentically you. If you need to heal any sexual abuse in from your past, now is the time to acknowledge the pain and release it. The aggressor is the only one who should feel shame.

Dance, sing, open your heart, embrace your softer side. The world is full of harshness so be your own soft place to fall.

Truly, you are beautiful inside and out. You were created by a loving energy that wants you to thrive, create and prosper. Thank you so much for sharing this space with me. Both of our energies will be lifted by sharing this space and embracing our inner goddess together. Now go out there and show the world some va-va-vroom as you connect with your inner Aphrodite.

Stretch Your Wings and Fly

It seems to me that this week you need some encouragement. Here we meet the soulful, nurturing, confident and sensuous Queen of Fire. An adept multitasker who blends her own brand of charm with irresistible independence. She combines Aries (task completion) and Pisces (nurturing and intuitive) to perfection. Sounds good to me!

She is here to tell you that you are magnificent, just like her. She wants you to realize that you already embody all the traits that you think about attaining “in the future”.

This card makes me think of the heart and solar plexus chakras. She is simply glowing in a golden hue emanating self confidence. Her throne, crown and bracelet are all adorned with emeralds representing an open heart chakra. Living life in your heart rather than your head keeps you in the flow and eases transitions. Her friend the dragon reminds us that friends make everything better, so go create something exciting with someone you care about.

Perhaps when you see this card you are reminded of someone in your life. Today is a good day to reach out to them and see what creative sparks fly!!

I recommend you take a few deep breaths and look at her. The artwork is emotive and sensual and is a perfect illustration of how a picture can be more powerful than words.

Choose your words wisely.  Set your intentions in the present tense so that you manifest your desires into your life now rather than into the “just beyond reach” in the future sometime tense.

Have More Fun

A visit with the ancient art of tarot reminds us to have more fun. After all, a playful approach is the most effective one!

In the Two of Earth from the Angel Tarot, this red headed woodland fairy is juggling too many balls. Not only is she adrift but she is unaware that she is on a collision course that will stop her in her tracks. Even though she is blessed with abundance, the chaos of her life is setting her up for a big disappointment. Sound familiar?

When you continually manifest new experiences in your life by creating change and being productive, it is easy to lose balance and feel overwhelmed.  Sometimes it becomes the new normal and people live their lives in a state of disconnection. Now is the time to connect with your playful side and approach your life with a sense of fun and light-heartedness.

I love that saying you know the truth when you hear it. It certainly rings true for me that when you lighten up, the pieces of life have a way of falling into place effortlessly.

The artwork is bright and playful, adorned with a rainbow of hope across the sky. Her bright red hair symbolizes passion, strength and energy while her face & body language tell a different tale. You have all the wisdom and strength within you already but you have too much going on to recognize this!

Decisions need to be made right now regarding your life; don’t let it overwhelm you. As the card says, “Consider a more playful approach” as you create your strategy. Do something silly “just because” and embrace your inner child! Remember, you have been feeling overwhelmed so any decisions you are making should alleviate the burden, not add to it. Trust your intuition.

So take a few calming breaths, put a smile on your face and do something fun right now. Then in the spirit of fun, make some strategic decisions regarding work, family and friends that will bring more balance and abundance into your days.

i look at this as a mantra for parenting. Life can get a little chaotic and it always serves me best to relax and deal with the situation at hand with a playful approach. And yes, of this I need steady reminders!!

Lucky Lucky Lisa

I have so many inspirational thoughts and memories from I Can Do It! Vancouver manifesting within me.  I really don’t know where I will begin sharing the themes, break throughs and wisdom from the conference with all of you.

Luckily I have some time to think about it.

Today I am re-packing my suit case for another spiritual adventure of love, meditation and spiritual awakening. I am off to Seattle with my sweet 7 year old along with some colleagues and their families to see Amma! This will be my third time and my daughter’s second time to Amma’s retreat.

For today I will share my “celebrity” photos from my weekend of I Can Do It! Vancouver and the Certified Angel Card Reader Program. I feel so blessed to be asked back by Doreen & Radleigh to help the students and assist them throughout the course for the second year in a row. Many exciting things are manifesting as a result of last weekend…..but that will have to wait for now as my suitcase is calling me. Until next week!
